Deep roots and a contemporary vision. A family mill on the western slopes of Mount Etna, crafting artisan Sicilian extra-virgin olive oil since 1959 — now poured into sculptural testa di moro bottles.

Romano - the olive mill in Bronte

Our story

A family bound to olive oil since 1959.

The bond between the Romano family and olive oil began in 1959, when — following the footsteps of grandfather Pasquale — the Romano brothers opened their first mill in Bronte, on the western slopes of Mount Etna.

Now in its third generation, the house stands as a beacon of Sicilian artisan excellence: a philosophy that blends innovation with deep respect for the land, celebrating the native varieties grown between Etna and the Simeto Valley.

Romano - ceramic Testa di Moro bottles

The signature

Design olive oil.

The Romano extra-virgin is poured into hand-finished ceramic teste di moro — the Sicilian Moor-head, a symbol of the island — in matte black, gloss black and white glaze.

A bottle that lives on the table long after the last drop: oil to taste, ceramic to keep.

Extra-virgin olive oil

The heart of the house

Artisan Sicilian EVO from native varieties — from everyday bottles to the sculptural testa di moro design editions.

Conserve

From the same land

A line of Sicilian preserves that completes the table alongside the oils, in the same spirit of quality and territory.

Polyphenol-rich

Fresh & healthy

The continuous cold process yields a livelier, often peppery oil with a higher charge of polyphenols — natural antioxidants, longer freshness.

Awards & Recognition

Recognised at home and abroad.

The quality of Romano's oils is confirmed by numerous regional, national and international awards.
